tech resource

I am posting a tech resource that  I use with both parents and students often.  The url is www.careercruising,com/ilp It is a free state funded web site that helps students with career guidance.  It helps students and parents with information about colleges, scholarships, and even has a resume builder.  Later this week, I will post a dummy username and password so you can explore the site.

  1. I was curious as to whether you have many students who actually use their ILPs to explore post-secondary opportunities. Unfortunately, many of our students view this simply as a school requirement and don't use them as the tool that could be so valuable for planning their post-secondary lives. I think the ILP is a great idea and provides important info to students, but as a teacher I've been unable to get students to utilize this tool to their advantage.

  2. I agree about the Individual Learning Plan. They serve as a handy resource for gathering information for scholarship applications but so many students fail to use their ILP to their advantage. The career cruising website is extremely student-friendly and beneficial.
